TWINS II, 1998
Kimpo Sculpture Park, Seoul, South Korea
Commissioned by KBS CPE Office and Kimpo City, 1998
“...The artist has been a witness to the reality of this division between North and South and his piece has been conceived from the meal table seen in our everyday life, called babsang, which makes Plensa's work all the more perfect for the Kimpo Park. The two tables of equal size on a wooden bed are divided in two at a certain distance. And a street lamp of ten-meter high shines a light on them. The directions of these two tables are fixed in the directions of North and South, and as indicated by Korean letters engraved on the street lamp, they tell us about the divided circumstance of the North and the South...”
